1968  The Bullitt
The classic movie Bullitt, filmed in 1968, has one of the most famous and exciting car chase scenes in film history. The extended sequence instantly became a classic. The chase consisted of two 1968 390 CID V8 Ford Mustangs (325 bhp) and the  "Jewel Black" 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum. This scene won editor Frank P. Keller an Oscar for bested editing in 1968. Ford also release a special edition Ford Mustang GT dedicated to The Bullitt.

The total time of the scene is 10 minutes and 53 seconds, and it began in the Mission District, followed by Midtown shooting on Hyde Street. The scene ends at the Guadalupe Canyon Parkway in Brisbane, out of the city.
